In the City: Places to Visit in Chattanooga, TN

Last week, my sister and I decided that it would be perfect for us to celebrate the end of a school year and the three day weekend by meeting up in Chattanooga, TN with our families.  For the both of us, it was an easy 2 hour drive from our homes.

She booked the hotel at the newly renovated La Quinta Inn. We enjoyed our stay there. It definitely is not your typical La Quinta – which was a relief.

We decided to meet on Saturday afternoon at the Chattanooga Zoo.  We happened to go on a day in which admission was $4 per person. Can’t beat that!  The kids (and adults) had a great time!

Later that night, my sister and I decided to explore downtown Chattanooga. Our first stop was The Flying Squirrel. The service was good.  The servers were attentive.  They have a loft area in the restaurant, however, there is not a lot of seating available.  Outdoor dining is available as well.  I loved the ambience and the drinks were pretty good.  Our next stop was  Stir.  I love the ambience and decor of this restaurant.  We arrived to late to eat but their menu had a variety of options to enjoy.  What makes Stir so different is that their cocktails are served with artisanal ice.  This means no watered down drinks.  Brilliant!

The next day we decided to make a stop at Rembrant’s Coffee House.  I had a yummy hazelnut latte and chocolate chip cookie.  The kiddos had a variety of treats – from muffins to a nun.  I loved the outdoor space!

Our next stop was “Sing It or Wing It!”.  A restaurant/bar with a full karaoke.  While we waited to order, we sang, when our food came to the table, we sang.  We had a blast!  In addition, the wings were AMAZING!  The portions are huge. The service was great!  And the KJ, Wayne, was awesome!  Thumbs up for this venue!  One thing to remember about this venue is that it is very family friendly during the day, however, after 9 pm it become a 21 and over crowd.  Either way, if you love karaoke and great wings, you won’t be disappointed.

The next time you travel to Chattanooga, check out any of these places.  You will be pleasantly surprised that you can have this much fun just 2 hours from Atlanta.
