In The City- Maxwell Listening Party & Dinner At Lobby At Twelve

In 2009, Maxwell dropped a gem with BLACKsummers’night. We floated high off of Pretty Wings and he told us that there would be one album a year until the trilogy was completed. We waited with baited breath until the next album dropped. And then Maxwell went on hiatus. Creatives do things like that. And we’ve accepted the fact that he needed time to craft a masterpiece.

He’s back.

CLS got the opportunity to go and preview the new album blackSUMMERS’night at a listening party at Happy Mango in Kirkwood.

You will not be disappointed.

The album is grown, sexy, and all that you expect from Maxwell. The kind of album that makes you want to light some candles, pour the wine, and well…you know the rest.

We loved that the album did not need any features. There was no need for extras on production. It was just all about the music. Good music. Grown folks music.

You can get your copy today, July 1 on all music outlets. The Sony exec also let us preview Beyonce’s new artists Chloe and Halle. They were featured on the BET Awards. Let me tell you that these girls are amazing. From their mid tempo to uptempo sounds, they have haunting voices and music that you can groove to- and the girls are teenagers.

After that, it was out on the town. Scrolling through restaurants online, we settled on The Lobby at Twelve in Atlantic Station. The food was great. The service was wonderful. And it was a perfect little spot in Atlantic Station where there was not too much of a crowd, but just enough passersby to be entertained and have a good evening. The prices were perfect for a quick night out. We ate outside on the patio in the warm summer night, but there was a bar inside the lobby and a full restaurant where you could dine in a gorgeous, sexy atmosphere.
