Flavor Restaurant- Richton Park

Flavor Restaurant has style, pizazz, great music, and a super friendly staff.  The ambiance feels like an escape to the comforts of the Deep South. If you haven’t visited this super cute location, go soon! Late Saturday afternoon, my friend demanded I ditch my lettuce and tuna and join her for dinner. Good decision.

When we arrived the music was pumping. My favorite jazz sounds were bouncing off the walls. People were relaxed, talking and laughing. The staff had smiles on their faces and looked to enjoy the company.

When the hostess arrived, she asked where we prefer to sit. I noticed the patio empty and inviting. I asked if the patio was open, she said yes but the music isn’t outside. We decided on the sun and perfect breeze. We were perfectly accommodated although we were the only two outside.

For appetizers, we had fried green tomatoes with Grit Cakes and Mini Croquettes. Both were a great start. I was ready for a smart cocktail. I’m the kind of customer that trusts the staff on their personal favorites.  So, I asked the waitress to suggest a drink. She brought out Peach Sangria. She said it was a customer favorite. It tasted fresh, cool and went down smooth. I loved it.

For dinner, I had blackened baked catfish, string beans, fried collard greens and cornbread. I grew up with a great cook from Batesville, Mississippi.  If I say it’s good, it’s good.  Trust me. I saved nothing for leftovers. Only my reflection was left on the plate.

We were too stuffed to eat dessert, so we took it to go. My peach cobbler was a perfect mid-Sunday afternoon treat. The next day flavors of the peach and crust were awesome.
